A Message from Our Principal
Dear Parents and Students,
I am excited to serve as the principal of Mechanicsville High School. It is my honor to support our students, staff, and community in fulfilling their maximum potential. I believe in "every child, every day" and that means that I work tirelessly to benefit all students in their academic, extracurricular, and social endeavors. I am passionate about empowering students and faculty to grow and become the next generation of leaders. Through a strong bond between the school and the home, everything is possible.
Thanks,
Brandon Petrosky, Ed.D.
Principal
About Dr. Petrosky
This will be my 19th year in public education. I received my bachelor's degree in adolescent mathematics education from Miami University. I have my master's degree in education administration and leadership from George Washington University and my doctorate in education leadership from VCU. I taught high school math for nine years across three states and have served as a high school administrator in Chesterfield and then Henrico for the past nine years.
My wife and I moved to Mechanicsville in 2013 to buy our first home and start a family. Since then we have added two children that will both be attending Hanover County elementary schools next year. We feel very blessed to send our children to such great schools.
